The Sub National Immunization Day (SNID) was inaugurated by the Joint Director of Health Services, Golaghat, Dr. Arun Chandra Mahanta in presence of Consultant, WHO, Dr. Nagen Sarma,  Superintendent, SKKCH, Dr. Uttam Prasad Dutta, Dy Superintendent, SKKCH Dr. Kaberi Das, SDM&HO (HQ), Dr. Hiren Saikia, In charge, Golaghat Urban area Dr. Sunita Ekka, staff of Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital, Programme officials of NHM, ASHA workers of Golaghat Urban area and others. 

The SNID Campaign under the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization has started in Assam from today.

In line with observation of SNID, the three day campaign started in Golaghat district from 18th September, 2022. The campaign will continue till 20th September, 2022.

On 18th September, 2022 i.e. on Polio Sunday the polio drops will be provided in the booths and in the consecutive two days health workers will go house to house to cover those who could not attend the polio booths. 

A total of 858 polio booths have been planned for Polio Sunday with a target of 128635 children in the age group of 0-5 years in the district during these three days.

Vice- Chairman Ramen Deka made a two day visit to Golaghat & Jorhat districts for upcoming projects with AAU, Jorhat
Jorhat, September 14: In a two day visit to the two dictricts of Golaghat and Jorhat respectively, Hon’ble Vice- Chairman Ramen Deka visited the site for upcoming projects at Borjuri, Bokakhat yesterday for the upcoming projects viz., “Up- scaling of Livelihood: Implication through Smart Agriculture and Agri-Eco-Tourism to be taken up by State Innovation & Transformation Aayog (SITA) along with the implementing partner Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. On his visit to the site, he interacted with Prof. Ranjan Das and other  officials of AAU and also the inhabitants residing in the surrounding areas. He later addressed a public gathering stating that he positively hope that the project which is going to be implemented will be a success as it receives the wholehearted support of the local residence and the interest taken by the Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. He elaborated that the mission is to be taken in a cooperative mode and its success will depend on the feeling of ownership by the farmers as well.  
On 14th September 2022, the second day of his visit, Hon’ble Vice- Chairman Ramen Deka attended a review meeting with the Vice-Chancellor Dr. Bidyut C.Deka of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat  to review the present status of the ongoing project  viz., ‘Survey of Rural Primary Markets (Gramin Periodical Haats) in Assam. This is a funded project of State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA) which is taken up by Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. Hon’ble Vice-Chairman while addressing the august gathering, lauded the University for all the step taken up in implementing this project and he hopes that it will get completed in due time. AAU Vice- Chancellor also spoke in the meeting. Principal Investigator Prof. Ramen Sarma gave a PPT presentation on the said project in the review meeting.
